Framing

In this section I care less about the story than about the method. The Last New Year’s Eve was an experiment in AIGC animation production: how to reliably produce feature-grade imagery for an eight-minute film on a very small budget.

How it was made

  • Consistency — character turnarounds and key-location stills are locked first, then used to drive shot-by-shot generation so characters do not drift between shots.
  • Camera language — the storyboard is decomposed into generatable units, each with its own prompt structure, keeping movement, framing and lighting coherent.
  • Correction — generated material contains structural errors and flicker, fixed through frame-level cleanup, local repainting and compositing.
  • Sound and rhythm — score and effects are generated separately, then re-laid against the edit to build the final feel.

Takeaway

This pipeline became the base template for my later AIGC work: breaking creative work into reproducible steps so that low-budget projects can still hold a consistent quality bar.
