Finding Home

Overview

Finding Home is a short drama about going back. I directed and produced it, starting from the script and carrying it through storyboarding, casting and location work, budgeting and crew management, then editing, sound mixing, grading and effects in post.

The film was shot in Chengdu in late summer 2025. It was selected for the 15th Macau International Micro Film Festival.

Notes

What interests me is what is never said out loud — the silences between people, glances that miss each other, the extra chair left in the room. So in storyboarding I deliberately lowered the density of dialogue and let space and light carry the story instead.

In post we spent most of our time on grading and sound design: alternating warm and cool palettes to separate past from present, and using the distance of ambience to keep the room breathing.
